Thanks for posting. I have a question thought: Are there any African American or Latino groups also involved in this event? If not, I'm curious as to why.

Hey Hadiya, thanks for your comment- and an important comment considering we are talking about Oakland. I actually did not have a complete list of sponsors, i have updated it, and it includes the National Black Justice Coalition, Sistahs Steppin' In Pride, and Social Life Productions, which are all black organizations. I suspect Calafia is a Latino organization (a Latino Californian organization comes up when i google) but i don't know for sure.
